About the Opportunity
A well-established national insurance defense law firm is seeking a Nevada-licensed Associate Attorney with experience in Workers' Compensation Defense.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3–10 years of experience who is looking for career advancement, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work with an experienced legal team.
The firm represents employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured clients in workers' compensation matters, handling cases from initial claims through hearings, trials, and appeals.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution.
- Represent employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured clients.
- Review and summarize medical records and evaluate claims.
- Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and legal memoranda.
- Prepare initial case evaluations, status reports, pretrial reports, and appellate documents.
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and court proceedings.
- Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests and related motions.
- Prepare motions for summary judgment.
- Develop litigation strategies and negotiate settlements.
- Manage deadlines, maintain client communication, and provide regular case updates.
Qualifications
- Active Nevada Bar license in good standing required.
- 3–10 years of legal experience preferred.
- Workers' Compensation Defense experience strongly preferred.
- Experience handling insurance defense litigation is a plus.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Ability to take and defend depositions.
- Experience attending hearings and handling litigation matters.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases independently while working collaboratively with a legal team.
