Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and QA, conducting tests, and ensuring the accuracy of results. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques, as well as the ability to analyze data effectively. The Laboratory Technician will work in various settings.
Duties
- Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments following established protocols.
- Analyze samples using various laboratory techniques and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment for use.
- Document results accurately and maintain detailed records of experiments.
- Assist in the development of new research methodologies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze electroplating baths, ensuring optimal chemical composition.
- Conduct routine lab tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, titrations, surface tension) and adjust chemical levels as needed.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
- Assist in troubleshooting plating defects and process inconsistencies.
- Perform basic QA inspections to verify plating thickness, adhesion, and overall quality.
- Document and report test results, corrective actions, and lab findings.
- Follow safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Basic experience with thickness measurement, thermocycling, CASS testing, chemical bath testing, and wastewater treatment analysis for heavy metals.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience: Prior experience in an electroplating lab; some QA experience preferred.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques (titration, spectroscopy, etc.) and plating defects.
- Understanding quality control standards and inspection tools (micrometers, XRF, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to hazardous chemicals and electroplating operations.
