Fast-paced, high-impact pharmacy technician role at the center of critical patient care! This role entails preparing sterile IVs, injections, and chemotherapy medications, where precision, safety, and attention to detail directly support life-saving treatment outcomes in a hospital setting.
Pay: $25-$28.50/hr
Schedule: 1st shift M-F
Type of Job: 3-month contract with possible extension
Location: Torrance, CA

Pharmacy Tech I Daily Tasks: What you will do:
- Prepares, compounds, and dispenses sterile intravenous (IV) and injectable medications, including chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs, in compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
- Assists pharmacists by accurately filling prescriptions, counting and packaging tablets/capsules, and preparing labeled medication orders for inpatient and/or outpatient use.
- Performs sterile compounding activities including mixing pharmaceutical preparations under aseptic conditions to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Properly handles hazardous and biohazardous medications using required PPE and safety protocols to maintain a safe compounding environment.
- Generates, verifies, and applies accurate prescription labels in accordance with pharmacist verification and institutional policies.
- Receives, inventories, and properly stores incoming pharmaceutical supplies while maintaining accurate stock and expiration tracking.
Pharmacy Tech I Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3–5 years of pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting
- Experience with sterile compounding, including IV admixtures and injectable medications preferred
- Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> standards for sterile and hazardous drug handling
- Familiarity with chemotherapy and biohazardous drug preparation procedures
