Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, Quality Control Technician II is responsible for supporting operations by performing in-process and finished good inspection of companies broad epoxy portfolio. The technician must ensure testing is compliant with engineering standards (ASTM, ISO), customer specifications, and internal requirements. The technician will also support incoming raw material inspection, shelf-life extension, research and development support, inventory management, continuous improvement, and safety activities. This is a “hands-on” lab role and daily work requires the preparation of adhesively bonded assemblies and destructive testing.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a high degree of workplace professionalism
- Work safely with various chemicals and chemical formulations using appropriate personal protective equipment
- Collaborate closely and communicate effectively with staff and management to ensure timely delivery of test results
- Excellent attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset are required
- Competence using digital balances, compressed gas cylinders, and basic lab equipment is required
- Machine parts using a bandsaw, grinding wheel, mill, and other tools according to customer requirements
- Prepare adhesively bonded assemblies according to customer drawings and specifications
- Determine mechanical strength of adhesive assemblies using universal test frames (compression, shear, and peel)
- Perform flammability testing using burn chambers
- Probe the application characteristics of companies adhesives using viscometers, slump jigs, extruders, and rheometers
- Perform physical inspections including density, durometer hardness, and fineness of grind
- Analyze and interpret test data and react to trends
- Support in-process inspection and coordinate key processes during manufacturing
- Perform inspections of incoming raw materials to ensure suitability for use in our clients manufacturing processes
- Maintain excellent record-keeping practices using basic software to include date, product name, batch number, sample number, and test results for each product manufactured
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance our clients commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
- Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work within a diverse team, as well as being self-motivated.
- Must be able to multitask and be able to prioritize according to urgency.
- Must be comfortable working in a chemical laboratory environment performing tests per material specifications.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Must have basic computer skills including MS Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and the ability to learn testing equipment software.
- Must have ability to adapt to daily workload changes.
- High School Diploma required
- Quality Control experience,
- Two- or 4-year degree in associated discipline is a plus, but not required.
- Technical school a plus.
