Personal Care Chemist

Our client in Passaic County, NJ is seeking a Chemist to join their Personal Care team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and formulating new skincare products, ensuring the highest quality standards, and driving the development of safe, effective, and sustainable formulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry with a passion for personal care and skincare.

Shift: 9 am-5 pm (Mon-Fri)

Pay: $35-$37/hr

Responsibilities

• Formulate, develop, and test new skincare products including lotions, creams, serums, cleansers, and other personal care items.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to translate market trends and customer needs into innovative product concepts.
• Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing to ensure product safety and efficacy.
• Perform troubleshooting of laboratory batches of varying skin care products.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of formulations, testing protocols, and batch records.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in product development or formulation in the personal care, cosmetics, or skincare industry.
• Strong understanding of formulation techniques, ingredient functionality, and skincare product testing.
