Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Telemetry Systems Technician for the RTC Test and Engineering Services (RTES) Contract supporting the Army Division within the Aviation Flight Test Directorate and the Instrumentation/Data Acquisition and Processing Division.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Telemetry Systems Technician for the RTC Test and Engineering Services (RTES) Contract supporting the Army Division within the Aviation Flight Test Directorate and the Instrumentation/Data Acquisition and Processing Division.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Possess a HS/GED; Bachelor’s Degree (desired only); 9-11 year of experience Electronics/Avionics technical work that developed skills in making measurements using test instruments and computing, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 1 year of applicable experience in the assigned specialty
- Must have experience supporting engineering/testing of systems in an aviation capacity, to include 5-7 years of experience in radio frequency transmissions/telemetry/avionics
- At least 10 years of the 11 years of experience must include engineering/testing of systems in an aviation unit with 2 of those years including experience in radio frequency transmissions/telemetry/avionics
- Thorough understanding of ARINC-429/1553, Ethernet Data and Aircraft Interface Control Documents
- Experience working with Networking Devices, Audio/Video Transport Hardware
- Experience working with Vendor specific hardware related to telemetry operations, such as Safran, Quasonix, Net-Acquire and Parraid
- Provide support for execution of Flight Test projects involving data processing and live telemetry (TM) operations to include tracking of aircraft while airborne
- Ideal candidate will possess previous Telemetry operations within the Flight Test environment
- Responsible for pre-mission project set-up to include maintenance and installation of proper TM equipment for test with mobile and fixed TM assets
- Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once
- Support processing of aircraft data utilizing COTS and GOTS software working alongside Instrumentation and Flight Test Engineers to ensure data is accurate
- Support creation of data products based upon needs of the customer
