Overview
Join the Astral Ore team as a Retail Sales Associate / Front Desk Team Member, where you will be the welcoming face of our crystal and metaphysical shop in Tremont. This role is central to creating a warm, inviting experience for every customer while keeping the store organized, visually appealing, and running smoothly day to day. You’ll assist guests with purchases, answer questions about products, support inventory and merchandising, and help cultivate the magical, community-centered atmosphere that defines Astral Ore.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming, positive in-store experience.
- Assist guests with product selection, purchases, and questions about crystals, minerals, jewelry, gifts, and metaphysical items.
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately for transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and visually appealing retail floor, including restocking shelves and arranging displays.
- Open and close the shop according to daily procedures, including cash handling and register balancing.
- Support inventory management by receiving shipments, pricing merchandise, tagging items, and updating stock records.
- Answer phone calls, respond to customer inquiries, and assist with order pickups professionally and courteously.
- Help prepare merchandise for special events, promotions, pop-ups, and seasonal displays.
- Maintain cleanliness and energetic flow of the space, including light cleaning and tidying throughout shifts.
- Collaborate with team members to create a supportive, uplifting environment for both staff and customers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous retail, customer service, boutique, or front desk experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, friendly demeanor.
- Passion or interest in crystals, metaphysical products, spirituality, art, or holistic wellness is highly valued.
- Comfortable handling cash, POS systems, and retail transactions accurately.
- Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
- Ability to lift and move boxes of merchandise when receiving shipments.
- Strong attention to detail in merchandising, display presentation, and inventory organization.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative small business team.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and occasional evening events, preferred.
