The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role requires advanced technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work independently on complex accounting tasks while supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant’s status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws. Similarly, positions requiring the ability to work on government contracts or a security clearance are also contingent upon the applicants ability to receive the appropriate clearance and be allowed to work on U.S. government contracts.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis as needed
- Prepare journal entries
- Manage and review general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain chart of accounts and ensure proper account coding
- Oversee AP/AR processes and resolve complex issues
- Review vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment processing
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding items
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Maintain documentation and support for financial transactions
- Implement and monitor internal controls
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA certification preferred (or actively pursuing)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Odoo17, etc.)
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
