Position Title: Medical Records Coordinator
Reports To: Billing Manager
Position Summary: Will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of our clients' medical records. This role is critical to ensuring that our healthcare professionals have timely access to the information they need to provide exceptional care.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in medical records required.
- HIPAA compliance knowledge required.
- Behavioral health experience required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all medical records.
- Process requests for patient information and release of records in accordance with agency policies.
- Organize and manage electronic and paper-based medical records systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate record-keeping.
- Assist with audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide support regarding medical records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance records management processes.
- Adhere to Astra Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
- Attend mandatory in services and other training/educational programs as required.
