About The Role
We’re seeking a Lead Accountant / Accounting Manager to own complex accounting areas and drive end-to-end close processes in a fast-paced, large public company environment.
This is a highly visible role where you’ll combine strong technical accounting expertise with automation, systems, and AI-driven process improvements to scale and optimize operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own key accounting areas across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Lead fixed asset accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairments)
- Oversee payroll accounting including accrals, entries, and reconciliations
- Perform flux, variance, and trend analysis and present insights to leadership
- Manage cash and bank reconciliations in partnership with Treasury
- Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls
- Drive automation and process improvements, leveraging AI-enabled tools
- Review outputs from automated workflows and AI processes
- Support and optimize NetSuite (or similar ERP) functionality
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, and Audit
- Payroll Accounting
- General Ledger (GL) Accounting
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- Experience in a large, publicly traded company
- NetSuite preferred (SAP/Oracle also considered)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience (public industry preferred)
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience operating at a Lead Accountant or Accounting Manager level
- Deep expertise in US GAAP, GL, and SOX compliance
- Proven ability to own complex accounting areas (payroll, fixed assets, cash, close)
- Strong background in automation, system implementations, and process improvement
- Experience leveraging AI tools or advanced reporting solutions
- Ability to review and validate automated/AI-generated outputs
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
- Excellent communication skills in a remote, cross-functional environment
