Role Overview
The Revenue Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, reporting, and analysis across multiple business lines. This position partners closely with FP&A, Sales, Operations, and Contracts teams to ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with ASC 606 and internal controls, while also supporting process improvement and scalable finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606, including contract review, performance obligations, allocation, and timing of revenue recognition
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to review customer contracts, amendments, and pricing structures
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue
- Reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and other revenue-related balance sheet accounts
- Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and audit inquiries
- Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and process documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue processes, automation, and internal controls as the business scales
- Support ad hoc analysis and special projects related to revenue and system implementations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of revenue accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and contract-based revenue models
- Experience in a multi-entity, high-volume transaction environment preferred
- ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and comfort partnering cross-functionally
- CPA or CPA-eligible
- Experience in services-based organizations is a plus
- Exposure to accounting system implementations or revenue automation tools
