- Supplier Management: Sourcing, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms, prices, and high-quality products.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiating contracts for price, payment terms, and service levels to minimize costs.
- Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, aligning purchasing with production schedules.
- Strategic Procurement: Analyzing market trends to predict price fluctuations and developing strategies to improve procurement processes.
- Operational Execution: Reviewing and approving purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies, and managing supplier performance (KPIs).
- Team Leadership: Hiring, training, and overseeing purchasing agents or buyers.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, such as supplier insolvency or supply disruptions.
