We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Analyst to join a growing procurement team and play a key role in strengthening sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing analytics. This position goes beyond transactional buying and focuses on data-driven decision-making, supplier development, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with flexibility on start time within an hour earlier. The role provides a cubicle space but requires being on the floor and communicating with key stakeholders. The position is part of a strong manufacturing environment with modernized processes, stable production demand, and a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Analyst to join a growing procurement team and play a key role in strengthening sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing analytics. This position goes beyond transactional buying and focuses on data-driven decision-making, supplier development, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Procure materials, parts, and supplies in a cost-effective and timely manner while ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in alignment with negotiated contracts and company policies.
- Analyze purchasing and spend data from ERP systems to support sourcing strategies, cost optimization, and reporting needs.
- Build and maintain Excel-based reports (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) to support purchasing decisions and management visibility.
- Evaluate supplier quotations to ensure the best overall value across cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Support full cycle purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier development, and vendor onboarding.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement and cost savings.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, and finance to improve purchasing processes, reduce costs, and optimize inventory levels.
- Work closely with finance to ensure accurate invoice processing and timely issue resolution.
- Utilize ERP systems (SAP preferred) and procurement tools to minimize total cost of ownership.
- Lead or support resolution of defective material issues, including DMRs and RMAs, in coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
- Take ownership of assigned commodities or categories and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
- Experience working within ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline (more experience can be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Advanced Degree would be nice.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience with SAP.
