What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at Aston Carter?
Description
You will be joining the a team that which all the imports of goods and freight coming in from outside of the US. On a day-to-day basis you will be managing different processes within the space including but not limited to processing repair claims escalating containers on customs holds and communicating and creating reports to other teams within the greater org. Communication with the carriers happen through the auditing platform so little to no phone support will be necessary. We are looking for candidates who have sharp Excel skills including experience with SUM average formulas and pivot tables/v lookups preferably. Success in this role is largely based on your Excel skills so this is very important. This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a highly successful company!
Day-to-day will include communicating with internal and external stakeholders on customs related issues. Communication will be done via e-mail and or responses, no calling will be needed. Also leveraging multiple tabs and cross-referencing information will be needed. To start it will be case heavy (such as 50 cases daily to follow up) and once onboarded this role can include some project and process improvement work.
