Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator supports customers by providing safe and clean equipment for export shipments and managing container transportation to the load port as needed. This role is responsible for managing costs responsibly and working closely with team members and other departments to achieve team and company goals.
Responsibilities
This role is based in an office setting with around 60 people divided into 4-5 sections handling different portions of inbound and outbound freight. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm, with a start time between 6am-7am. There is potential for overtime with 9-10 hour shifts. The position is 100% onsite for training, with the potential to work remotely one day a week based on performance.

This is a Contract position based out of Puyallup, Washington.

Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator supports customers by providing safe and clean equipment for export shipments and managing container transportation to the load port as needed. This role is responsible for managing costs responsibly and working closely with team members and other departments to achieve team and company goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage equipment costs through effective interactions with customer load sites, railroads, container storage facilities, trucking companies, and ocean terminals.
- Coordinate export loads with trucking companies and load sites.
- Build relationships with industry partners to enable strong negotiations and supplier management.
- Manage and maintain necessary container inventory levels, including forecasting incoming supply and demand up to six weeks in advance.
- Monitor and communicate export shipment status and proactively resolve anticipated service failures, where possible.
- Maintain strong communication channels with internal groups including Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Vessel Operations, Pricing, and others.
- Provide logistics service primarily via email for logistics customers within the coordination of shipping containers both locally and internationally.
- Handle a high volume of emails daily, determining which are important and which are for reference.
- Experience in Logistics, Shipping, BOL, and Transportation
- Ability to handle high volumes of documentation
- Minimum of three years of business or transportation experience (transportation, logistics, import/export, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and teaming skills
- Ability to independently work on projects and be self-motivated
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is an advantage
- Interest in pursuing a career in logistics/transportation
- Quick thinker and problem solver
