Job Description
The role of EH&S Coordinator involves a balanced focus on both operational coordination and continuous manufacturing improvement and safety initiatives. The position requires a 50/50 split between these two critical areas.
Responsibilities
- Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, visual management, and SOP development.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, standardization, and efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to execute improvement projects.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Director of Operations, including reporting, scheduling, meeting coordination, and project tracking.
- Support tracking of key operational initiatives and follow-up on action items.
- Handle documentation for audits, training updates, and assist with orders as needed.
- Perform adhoc tasks for the General Manager and HR.
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, SDS management, injury and illness logs, and required safety postings.
- Ensure all compliance documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready at all times.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports.
- Assist with new hire safety orientation and maintain training records.
- Coordinate internal safety audits and facility walkthroughs.
- Document findings, assign corrective actions, and track completion.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day EHS-related questions from the production floor.
- Escalate safety or compliance concerns as appropriate.
- 1-3 years in an operational or administrative role, with compliance experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
- Exposure to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, especially Excel and document management.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; candidates with a BA may have less experience.
