Job Title: Contracts & Compliance Manager | Fully Onsite- Fairfax, VA | $40-45/hr | 6 month Contract to Hire

Job Description

The Contracts & Compliance Manager oversees legal contracting activities and regulatory compliance across the organization, with a strong focus on government contracting environments. This role reviews, drafts, redlines, and negotiates a wide range of commercial and government-related agreements, supports facility clearance and cybersecurity compliance efforts, and partners closely with HR and Accounting to strengthen internal operations. The position offers a full-time, in-office opportunity with long-term growth potential in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, redline, and negotiate vendor agreements, subcontractor agreements, nondisclosure agreements (NDAs), teaming agreements, and other business contracts.
  • Support legal and contracts functions by assisting with government contract compliance and documentation.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel when necessary to address specialized legal and compliance matters.
  • Support legal risk management initiatives and assist in the development and refinement of internal policies.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date contract files and legal documentation systems.
  • Assist in overseeing and maintaining Facility Clearance (FCL) compliance requirements, ensuring all obligations are tracked and met.
  • Support and help coordinate CMMC and broader cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
  • Track compliance deadlines, filings, certifications, and reporting requirements to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Help improve and streamline internal processes related to federal contracting compliance and regulatory oversight.
  • Work closely with HR and Accounting departments on operational matters that intersect with contracts and compliance.
  • Assist with hiring coordination, including onboarding documentation and personnel compliance requirements.
  • Support internal investigations and employee-related documentation as needed, handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Assist with administrative processes and help implement scalable internal systems and operational procedures to support growth.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, partners, and executives to resolve contract and compliance issues in a professional and timely manner.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of experience in contracts and compliance or audit-focused roles.
  • Proven ability to review, draft, redline, and negotiate vendor agreements, subcontractor agreements, NDAs, teaming agreements, and other business contracts.
  • Experience assisting in overseeing and maintaining Facility Clearance (FCL) compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in government contracting environments and working within established compliance frameworks.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail in managing documentation and deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically, identify risks, and solve problems creatively within legal and compliance contexts.
  • Confidence and professionalism in communicating with vendors, partners, and executives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents, correspondence, and internal guidance.
  • Proactive work style with the ability to take ownership of tasks without constant oversight.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities may shift quickly.
  • High level of trustworthiness and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in legal operations, paralegal work, contract administration, or compliance management.
  • Familiarity with federal government contracting processes and requirements.
  • Understanding of FCL, CMMC, ITAR, or related compliance frameworks.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating both commercial and government-related agreements.
  • Quality assurance and regulatory compliance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant experience is highly valued.
  • Personable and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to support a rapidly expanding organization.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Fairfax, VA, within a rapidly expanding organization that operates in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The role involves close collaboration with legal, HR, Accounting, and other operational teams, as well as regular interaction with external vendors, partners, and counsel. The work centers on government contracting, compliance frameworks such as FCL and CMMC, and the use of organized documentation systems to manage contracts and regulatory obligations. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
