This role supports the Procurement team by facilitating the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies on optimal terms, in alignment with company policies. The position involves entering procurement-related data into company systems and assisting in the review and analysis of purchase requisitions and basic contract requests. Additionally, the role requires investigating and developing sources of supplies and services, issuing bid requests, reviewing responses, and assisting in the execution of related purchasing and contracting activities.
Responsibilities
The position is a 9-month contract-to-hire role with advancement opportunities. Once permanent, benefits include a 401K matching plan and medical/dental coverage starting on the first day of employment. The work environment involves using technologies such as SAP and Ariba, with a focus on procurement and supply chain management.

Job Description

Additionally, the role requires investigating and developing sources of supplies and services, issuing bid requests, reviewing responses, and assisting in the execution of related purchasing and contracting activities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze purchase requisitions to ensure clear and complete descriptions of materials and equipment, including quantity, quality requirements, authorization, delivery needs, transportation mode, and support documentation.
- Maintain a current list of suppliers capable of meeting operational needs.
- Request and analyze bid quotations, evaluating factors such as terms, price, delivery, financial status, technical capability, quality control, and shipping location.
- Negotiate the best price, delivery, payment terms, purchase conditions, tax exemptions, price escalation, and other cost-impacting factors.
- Coordinate technical review of paperwork with appropriate stakeholders and issue purchase orders and supply agreements after securing required approvals.
- Investigate market conditions and perform comparative analyses of price, delivery conditions, material availability, quality, and new supply sources.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to receive feedback on supplier performance.
- Maintain replenishment of stock materials and update procurement information, including supplier details, stock levels, order quantity, and issuing of purchase orders.
- Work with the Rotating Equipment Team to maintain and repair stock of rotating equipment as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry in a similar role.
- Experience researching potential vendors and products to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Experience preparing and reviewing purchase orders, invoices, and other documents.
- Experience developing and implementing purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery of supplies and equipment.
- Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and terms.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP/Ariba is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical knowledge of work areas and responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict leadership abilities.
