What You'll Be Doing
As a Buyer, you’ll manage purchase orders from start to finish, working with suppliers, internal teams, and systems to ensure materials arrive on time and accurately.
Your Day-to-day Will Include
- Creating and issuing purchase orders after verifying specs, pricing, and delivery needs
- Requesting vendor quotes and obtaining approvals before releasing orders
- Communicating regularly with suppliers via phone and email to track orders and resolve issues
- Expediting orders when needed to meet production or customer deadlines
- Tracking orders from placement through delivery and keeping stakeholders informed
- Verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
- Coordinating receiving documentation and supporting accurate supplier payment
- Entering and maintaining purchasing data in the MRP system (Epicor experience is a plus)
- Comparing vendor pricing to support cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Purchasing raw materials, machined parts, sheet metal components, electronic parts, assemblies, and vendor kits
- Reviewing basic drawings or schematics and working with engineering for clarification
- Supporting receiving and accounts payable with issue resolution
- Communicating proactively, asking questions, and escalating concerns appropriately

Required
- 1–3 years of experience in a buying or purchasing role
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with machined parts, sheet metal, castings, hardware, or electronic components
- Comfort using ERP/MRP systems (Epicor strongly preferred)
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Epicor MRP experience
- Exposure to reading manufacturing drawings or schematics
- Interest in growing a career in purchasing or supply chain
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams
- Willing to ask questions instead of guessing
- Interested in learning and improving processes over time
- Full-time, onsite role in a manufacturing office
- Monday–Friday, first shift (typically 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; earlier starts possible)
- Works closely with a senior planner and cross‑functional teams
- Mix of straightforward purchase orders and more complex, multi-step orders
- Supportive environment with training and growth opportunities
