The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, performing bank and credit card reconciliations, and ensuring timely payment of all operational bills.
Responsibilities
The role is fully onsite in a small distribution office consisting of 9 people. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM with a half-hour lunch break, and Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM with a half-hour lunch break. The office fosters a family-like environment, offering the potential for permanent employment in a family-owned business. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, performing bank and credit card reconciliations, and ensuring timely payment of all operational bills.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and credit card statement reconciliations.
- Process 20-30 invoices per day and handle purchase orders, matching them to the invoice and packing slip.
- Post journal entries for daily transactions.
- Reconcile bank activity for the previous day with system records each morning.
- Verify inventory and dollar amounts from the POS system to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Process sales tax returns for NC and VA.
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and MS Excel to manage spreadsheets.
- Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Strong skills in QuickBooks Desktop.
- Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
