Job Title: Accountant III

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Accounting Management and support team members in monthly close and reporting processes
• Prepare month-end close and ad hoc journal entries, calculations, analysis, and reporting for complex GAAP accounting transactions
• Reconcile complex general ledger accounts, research variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure proper accounting treatment and apply necessary monthly accrual adjustments
• Prepare accounting records and reports in alignment with GAAP, best practices, and internal policies
• Work independently and as a team resource; serve as a subject matter expert
• Perform various accounts payable functions
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including cash flow analysis
• Conduct variance analysis comparing financial results to historical and expected figures
• Create and prepare management reports; run ad hoc calculations and analysis as needed
• Demonstrate advanced problem-solving and resolution skills
• Support accounting projects; document and follow through on recommendations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project initiatives and accounting matters
• Assist with preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes, and external reporting
• Contribute to budget, forecast, ALCO, and regulatory reporting processes
• Participate in financial and operational audits and regulatory exams
• Identify and implement continuous process improvements
• Provide consistent and timely updates to manage expectations
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (Accounting emphasis)

Experience

• 5 years of financial accounting experience or 2 years of public accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting concepts

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Effective collaboration across departments and management levels
