Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. This role involves reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to GAAP.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, account analysis, and variance analysis.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
• Collaborate with the Controller and other departments for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Perform various duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reconciliation and SAP.
• 3 years of experience with SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or similar industry.

Work Environment

Join a dedicated 10-person accounting team, including the CFO and Accounting Manager. The team works in an open office area with cubicles, fostering collaboration. The position requires working on-site five days a week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility to work from home as needed for personal commitments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New Brighton, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
