Job Overview
- Asteroid Health is a thriving clinic offering mental health services in the Newton, MA area. We offer Psychiatric Day Treatment and General Outpatient services (e.g. weekly individual counseling). We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health and be skilled in various therapeutic modalities. This role involves but is not limited to, providing high-quality mental health services, including group therapy and crisis intervention. The Group Facilitator will work collaboratively with the rest of the team to address client needs and promote overall well being.
Responsibilities
• Facilitate group therapy in a safe and supportive environment.
• Ensure timely documentation.
• Collaborative with the team to effectively ensure client well-being.
• Provide supportive resources to clients.
• Manage clinical/ client crisis.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards. Skills
• Proficient in medical records management.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
• Experience working in the field of mental health. Preferably partial-care/ psychiatric day treatment.
• Excellent crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Knowledge of various psychotherapy techniques tailored to diverse populations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective workplace and client interaction.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and the companies mission.
• Ability to create a welcoming environment. Qualifications Background in psychology, social work, counseling/ related field (bachelor’s degree at minimal)
• License in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or substance use, (i.e. LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, and/ or similar licensure) license preferred but not required
• Experience facilitating behavioral health groups
• 2 years experience at minimum required in the field
• ASAM and DSM experience and knowledge
• Demonstrated computer and communication proficiency
