Molding Process Engineer
Location: Muncie, IN, USA
This position involves engineering related efforts in Molding which includes the development and application of molding and total productive maintenance processes, press and auxiliary equipment settings, continual improvement of processes, and production support to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
Job Summary:
- Ensure smooth operation of molding machines and tools daily.
- Setup and oversee Machine and Auxiliary Equipment Functions, Check Equipment, and Trouble Shooting.
- Direct/Complete mold and model changes.
- Perform and direct press, auxiliary and tooling maintenance.
- Interact with production and support departments to develop and improve manufacturing processes to achieve daily plant production duties and goals.
- Support new model project activity.
- Document and report production and maintenance activity using plant systems.
- Complete documentation and necessary reports at specified intervals.
- Perform safety, quality and machine checks at specified intervals.
- Provide coverage for breaks and lunches as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge skills and abilities:

- Improves manufacturing of all processes, procedures, and equipment within Molding.

Qualifications:
Education:
- 2-year College Degree.
Experience:
- 2-year College Degree or minimum of 5-year related work experience.
- Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties.
- Strong proven technical aptitude.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and Injection molding technical/engineering concepts.
- Experience with plastic injection molding machines (650 ton and above).
- Experience with automation for part pick and place applications.
- Basic experience required in MS Office.
- Basic experience in Preventive Maintenance software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will not supervise associates. May be responsible for training others and may be required to lead repair teams and functional area improvement projects.

Physical Demands:
- Required to work for long periods of time while walking, sitting, standing or bending.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Carrying equipment up and down stairs.
- Occasional overtime will be required.

- Factory Setting with Noise.
- Visual ability to process information and accurately provide detailed responses.
Travel:
- Some domestic and international travel may be required up to 5%. Must have a valid driver’s license.
