Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Service Writer. As a Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our automotive service department. This job is for an experienced writer / advisor who is serious about advancing in their career.
Hours: Mon - Fri 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM & Sat 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM (Closed on Sundays)
Our employees work 5 days per week.
Duties:
- Greet customers and assist them with their service needs
- Conduct vehicle inspections and accurately assess repair and maintenance requirements
- Prepare estimates for repairs and communicate them to customers
- Schedule appointments and coordinate service timelines
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, work orders, and invoices
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their vehicles
- Upsell additional services or products as appropriate
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as service writing or automotive sales, is required
- Familiarity with brake systems, tire service, shocks/struts, and auto repair is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and record keeping
