Job Summary
North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) seeks an experienced and dynamic Varsity Girls Field Hockey Head Coach to lead and grow its program as NYA transitions from the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) to the highly competitive New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Prep League for play in fall 2027.
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach will oversee all aspects of the varsity program while providing leadership and guidance for the junior varsity and Middle School levels. This position includes off-season recruiting responsibilities and close collaboration with the NYA Admissions Office. With the recent addition of boarding, recruiting efforts will be both local and global in scope.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all components of the varsity field hockey program, including practice planning, game preparation, and in-game coaching
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy in partnership with the Admissions Office
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit mission-appropriate student-athletes locally, nationally, and internationally
- Support and mentor student-athletes in their athletic, academic, and personal development
- Prepare and develop athletes for potential collegiate play
- Supervise and support assistant coaches and contribute to the growth of the JV and Middle School programs
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, faculty, and athletics staff
- Perform administrative duties related to the program
- Drive an NYA 14-passenger bus to competitions as needed
- Prior high-level field hockey coaching experience required
- Collegiate playing experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Commitment to fostering character, sportsmanship, and academic success
