General Summary of Position
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care across Women’s Health Advantage clinical settings. This role supports direct patient care, accurate documentation, clinical decision making, and collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. The APP functions independently within their scope of practice while collaborating with supervising and collaborating physicians as required.
Essential Functions
• Provide comprehensive patient care including physical assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow up
• Identify patient learning needs and provide education appropriate to diagnosis and care plan
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with licensure, certification, and clinical guidelines
• Perform therapeutic and corrective measures within scope of practice
• Refer patients to specialists or other providers when appropriate
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate medical records
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and support staff
• Participate in projects, initiatives, and committees as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations
Education
• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required
Experience
• One year or more of Advanced Practice Provider, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or related clinical experience preferred
Required Licensure and Certification
• Current Indiana Nurse Practitioner license or Physician Assistant license
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Prescriptive Authority (if applicable)
• Active DEA registration
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to maintain all required licensure, certifications, and credentialing requirements
