JOB OVERVIEW

The Coordinator, Program Operations is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National team and plays a key role in supporting the planning, implementation and administration of America's Workforce Academy (AWA), a national workforce development initiative led by ABC.


Working closely with the Program Manager and senior leadership, the Operations Coordinator supports coordination of the program, develops and documents business processes, prepares reports and presentations, maintains project documentation and helps ensure the program remains on schedule and aligned across ABC National, local chapters, contractors and industry partners.


Position Funding Notice: This position is being hired to support the America's Workforce Academy (AWA) program funded through the Meta initiative. Continued employment is contingent upon the continuation of the program and the availability of funding. Should the program conclude or funding cease, continued employment in this position is not guaranteed.


CAREER DEVELOPMENT

This is a developmental position intended for an early-career professional with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Manager and ABC leadership and may have opportunities to assume increasing responsibility if the AWA or other ABC initiatives expand.


DESCRIPTION OF KEY DUTIES

Program Coordination

  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Maintain project plans, timelines, and action item logs.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and monitor follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate communication among internal staff and external partners.


Process Development

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Create templates, checklists, and implementation guides.
  • Document workflows and recommend process improvements.
  • Promote consistent operating practices across participating chapters.


Reporting

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Maintain project dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Compile and organize information to support management decisions.


Systems Administration

  • Maintain project documentation and shared resources.
  • Support project management and collaboration systems.
  • Use AI and other technology tools to improve productivity, documentation, and reporting.


Stakeholder Support

  • Coordinate activities with ABC National staff, local chapters, contractors, training providers, and external partners.
  • Respond to routine inquiries and help resolve operational issues.
  • Support implementation of strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in project coordination, operations, administration, workforce development, education, nonprofit management or a related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including occasional overnight travel by air or automobile, as needed.
  • Experience using project management software, collaboration platforms, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or similar AI productivity tools is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively use new software applications.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.


This position is open to candidates residing anywhere within the contiguous United States. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area, as regular in-office collaboration is preferred.


The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual starting salary will be determined based on several factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, geographic location and current market conditions.
