Position Summary
Primarily responsible for overseeing a portfolio comprised of complex community associations, which includes financial statement preparation, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cash management. In addition, providing general accounting support for community managers, board members, and other accounting staff.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and review the accuracy of monthly financial statements to include, but not limited to journal entry postings, bank reconciliations, and monthly account reconciliations by contractual due dates.
- Participate in peer review of monthly financial statements for both cash and accrual communities that are basic or complex in nature.
- Research and collect information regarding communities for accounting purposes.
- Partners with Community Managers/Developers to establish community budgets and complete financials per due date.
- Open new bank and investment accounts for your assigned communities in a timely manner.
- Prepare and review subsidy (deficit) funding requests for developer communities.
- Provide training and mentorship to a designated group within the Staff Accounting Department.
- Assist in procedure documentation for the Staff Accounting Department.
- Attend board/committee meetings when necessary and demonstrate the ability to resolve concerns with minimal manager assistance.
- Work with CPAs to provide information and support for audit inquiries related to communities within the portfolio.
- Other duties and special projects assigned by the supervisor.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimum level of supervision.
- Computer proficiency, including Excel at an intermediate level.

- Ability to present accounting information at association board meetings as needed.

- Capable of working extended hours including evenings or weekends as necessary.
