• System migration expertise – proven ability to assess environments, design migration strategies, and manage end-to-end report migration (build, test, validate).
• Cognos reporting skills – hands-on experience with Cognos 11 Reporting and Cognos Transformer Cube, including report conversion/building.
• Power BI & SQL – demonstrated ability to create Power BI dashboards and write advanced SQL queries.
  
  

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to join our IT team and support the migration of legacy Cognos reports into Power BI. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with business partners and IT stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading system analysis efforts, guiding business requirements workshops, and delivering clear, actionable solutions that align with organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify technology and process solutions.
• Lead workshops and requirements sessions to capture and translate business needs.
• Execute end-to-end system migrations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Build, test, and validate reports in both Power BI and Cognos.
• Document requirements, test cases, and use cases using structured methods.
• Provide project updates to leadership and deliver training on new functionality.
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• 5 years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst.
• Strong, proven experience with:

• Cognos 11 Reporting & Transformer Cube
• Power BI dashboarding
• Advanced SQL (complex query writing)
• End-to-end system migrations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.

• Background in IT, consulting, or utilities.
• Large-scale IT environment experience across multiple platforms.
• Experience collaborating with business and IT teams on enterprise implementations.
  
  

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
