Job Description Posted Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 12:00 PM Logistics Expert – Non Ferrous Metals Purpose of the Position/Job Summary: RtM (Americas), Mitsubishi International Corporation’s Precious Metals Division, Base Metals Division, Aluminum Division, and Ferrous Raw Materials Division, trades precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium), aluminum, and copper. RtM stands for “Resources to Market”, and RtM literally trades mineral resources such as various metals and provides industrial customers with them on a global basis. RtM has offices in Singapore, Japan, China, Thailand, India, the UK, and the US. RtM (Americas) has a strong market share and presence in North America in the mineral resources trading industry. The Logistics Expert is responsible for independently completing delivery-related operations following contract conclusions by the Front Office, overseeing the importation and domestic operations of non-ferrous metals, and working with North American suppliers and customers. Key duties include monitoring and controlling inventory credit exposure, conducting monthly reconciliations, periodical inspections, and ensuring swift metal movement through close coordination with traders and logistics companies. This role also involves routine logistics activities such as coordinating shipping schedules, chartering transport, handling insurance arrangements, and managing claims settlements. Additionally, the Logistics person will facilitate financial closing, risk monitoring, and contribute to operational efficiency improvements while continuously exploring optimal logistic services and proposing efficient delivery methods. Key Accountabilities: • Complete all delivery-related operations following the contract conclusion of the Front Office . • Handle US domestic professional operations of non-ferrous metals including importation, working with North American suppliers and customers. • Perform routine logistic activities including checking the shipping schedule with counterparties, processing quantity declarations to suppliers, coordinating truck and vessel chartering, managing good receipt and release, collecting shipping documents, arranging freight, conducting warehouse rate negotiations, handling insurance arrangements and claims settlements, and working closely with traders and Back Office staff. • Oversee delivery invoicing, and shipping documents etc. from suppliers and logistics companies • Provide support to Back Office team on how to process deliveries smoothly and efficiently. • Monitor and control inventory credit exposure and carry out monthly inventory reconciliation while conducting periodic physical inventory inspection. • Initiate logistical works such as metal receipt, metal release, metal allocation, and delivery management etc. in conjunction to physical metal trading. • Continuously explore and identify optimal logistic services, including freight options, through a network of logistic companies. • Prepare and propose the most efficient delivery methods as needed by Division Managers, the Division Vice President, and other traders. • Facilitate financial closing and risk monitoring including monthly delivery status check, monthly inventory reconciliation, inventory inspection, warehouse credit line monitoring together with traders and credit risk manager. • Oversee inventory at each assigned location. • Conclude necessary contracts with warehouse companies and customers for inventory management. • Prepare necessary documentation, and support UCC filings working in collaboration with Middle Office, Credit and Front Office managers. • Contribute to operational efficiency by identifying practical improvements and consulting with team members, including the Division Manager, to implement changes. Key Qualifications - REQUIRED: 3 to 5 years prior logistic assistant or trade assistant experience Qualifications - PREFERRED: 3 to 5 years prior logistic experience especially international import/export logistics operation of container and bulk shipment. Compensation The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $91,683.42 - $114,822.97. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in the company’s short-term incentive program. Compensation decisions are dependent on the specific details and circumstances of each hire, such as experience, skills, and education.
