PLC and Instrumentation Maintenance Technologist

Ready to keep a food-grade, union facility running smoothly in Chicago?You WillTroubleshoot and repair electrical infrastructure, PLCs, control panels, relays, breakers, communication links, and alarm circuits.Independently install and commission new electrical and control equipment.Diagnose issues, change out failed parts, and execute advanced wiring and terminations.Maintain and troubleshoot VFDs, 3‑phase motors, and process sensors for temperature, pressure, and level.Provide on-the-floor support and knowledge transfer to junior maintenance colleagues.Uphold safety and sanitation expectations of a food-grade, unionized operation.Must-HavesHigh School Diploma or GED, plus formal apprenticeship or equivalent experience.At least 3 years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.Strong electrical skills with demonstrated PLC troubleshooting.Ability to wire/test 3‑phase motors and calibrate industrial instrumentation.Nice-to-HavesPLC programming in Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar.Control panel installation and diagnostics.Background with sanitary or hazardous process instrumentation in food or consumer goods environments.Where You ExcelBuilding preventive maintenance plansMechanical troubleshootingWorking with 120/208/240/480 V systemsElectrical installs, troubleshooting, and repairsOSHA 10‑Hour Certification (OSHA 10)Pneumatics troubleshootingPerforming machine safety inspectionsTech You’ll SeeVFDsPLCs (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Modicon)Conveyor systems (Dematic, Hytrol, Alba, Wulftec)Servo motorsWhy You’ll Like It HereYour work keeps production moving and people safe.
