Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant who is fluent in both Spanish and English to join our healthcare team in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office and deliver excellent patient care to our diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in both Spanish and English, ensuring clear communication and comfort.
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and administer medications as directed by the provider.
- Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up appointments.
- Assist with billing and insurance documentation as needed.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) is a plus.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English (verbal and written) is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
- CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Work Environment
This position is based in our Plano, TX office. The role involves direct patient interaction and requires standing for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting of medical supplies and equipment.
