Position Overview:

Asset Based Lending (“ABL”) is seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Representative (“BDR”) to support the continued expansion of the Tennessee sales team.

This role is designed for someone who thrives in relationship building, networking, territorial expansion, and local market development. The primary responsibility of this position is to aggressively grow ABL’s footprint throughout underserved and high-growth markets by creating new referral relationships and sourcing lending opportunities for the Tennessee team.

The BDR will work directly alongside a top-producing Loan officer and the Tennessee team to help scale production through consistent local presence, networking, and business development activity.

This is not a traditional inside sales role. This is a boots-on-the-ground market expansion position.


Market Focus:

Primary Markets

  • Knoxville, Tennessee
  • Chattanooga, Tennessee
  • Boise, Idaho

Secondary Expansion Markets

  • Secondary surrounding Tennessee markets
  • Additional growth markets as identified by management

The Nashville market will remain primarily managed by the existing Tennessee team directly due to existing market presence and relationship concentration.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with:
  • Real estate investors
  • Realtors
  • Builders and developers
  • Contractors
  • Attorneys
  • Mortgage brokers
  • Title companies
  • Investor groups and meetups
  • Constantly network within target territories
  • Attend local real estate and investor events
  • Develop new referral sources throughout assigned markets
  • Increase ABL brand visibility locally


Lead Generation & Market Expansion

  • Source new bridge, construction, and DSCR loan opportunities
  • Identify underserved borrower and investor relationships
  • Generate meetings and introductions for the Tennessee team
  • Help expand ABL market share in targeted territories
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up with referral partners and prospects


Territory Development

  • Operate as a local market representative for the Tennessee team
  • Provide feedback regarding local competition and market opportunities
  • Assist in establishing scalable territorial growth strategies
  • Build repeat referral pipelines within each market


Operational Structure

  • The BDR is responsible for sourcing and cultivating opportunities
  • The Tennessee team will handle:
  • Loan structuring
  • Credit strategy
  • Pricing
  • Execution
  • Borrower advisory
  • Closing process


Qualifications:

Preferred Experience

  • Prior sales, business development, or relationship management experience preferred
  • Real estate or mortgage industry experience is a plus but not required
  • Existing book of business is NOT required
