About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assessment Copy Editor to join our team. This position requires a professional with exceptional editing abilities and a passion for delivering polished and precise content.  Experience in K-12 assessment or learning materials, or in healthcare education/assessment, is a major plus. As a Copy Editor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of materials for test development programs and other projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Proofread, format, and copy edit a variety of assessment items with meticulous attention to detail
• Edit content specifically for test development programs, adhering to project guidelines
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in grammar, punctuation, and style
• Collaborate with writers, subject matter experts, and project teams to maintain high-quality standards
• Evaluate alignment of items to curriculum or assessment blueprints
• Utilize strong computer skills to work efficiently with G Suite, Microsoft Office, and other software tools as needed

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing, formatting, proofreading, and copy-editing abilities
• Demonstrated experience in editing and writing for test development programs
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy
• Proficiency in G Suite and Microsoft Office applications
• A Bachelor of Arts in English, Journalism, or a related field is preferred
• At least two years of professional copy editing experience

• Target compensation for this position is $20 - 30 per hour
• This position is part-time, varying with projects that our clients send us

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but will coordinate the work of several staff.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a contracted position for US clients, and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
