Product Specialist

The Product Specialist will work closely with the product management and product data teams to help ensure product data accuracy in our ERP software.  They will be responsible for supporting item master data and corresponding bills of material.  They will also maintain, update, and create customer supporting literature. They will be highly involved in daily reporting, literature updates, project management, product data management and fulfillment of sales aids. This involves supporting engineering, operations and quality control in assisting with new products and product change processes.

Close cross-functional collaboration within Pemko and the Architectural Accessories Group is required.  This person will be involved in the development of the branding efforts, marketing strategy, positioning and messaging of all products.  They will be expected to aid in the NPD process and help lead projects from inception to launch. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Product Data Coordination: Collaborate closely with Product Data Analyst to ensure product data accuracy in ERP software.

1. 1. Support Item Master and BOM maintenance.

1. 1. Support addition of finished good part numbers and part number obsolescence process.

1. 1. Ensuring all items and change requests comply with process and are accurate.

1. 1. Identify and resolve item master data issues.

1. 1. Support product configurator updates within JDE.

1. 1. Create and maintain documents as needed, and distribution of correct forms required for development process.

1. 1. Support Production and Quality Control and Engineering Departments, processing item master, BOM and other item information changes or implementations.

1. Marketing: Collaborate closely with Product Management, Graphic Design, Marketing, and Customer Service in the development and maintenance of technical marketing materials including product catalogs, price books, instruction sheets, product presentations, cut sheets, technical sheets, and order forms. 

1. 1. Assist in product and catalog branding efforts and conformity to ASSA ABLOY standards.

1. 1. Create product information on new and existing products to be used by the Marketing Communications team.

1. 1. Organize existing technical documentation.

1. 1. Attend digital training as required.  Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing & Communications team to ensure that product category is properly represented.

1. 1. Assist in creation of product training materials or content.
   2. Manage Product Management sample inventory. Process and inspect all sales samples requests and sales kits.
   3. Order and manage distribution of promotional items.

1. New Product Development: Support new product development efforts from concept definition through product launch. 
   1. Perform research/competitor analysis as requested.

1. 1. Create/Modify PowerPoints to showcase updates in project movement.

1. 1. Prepare for, lead, take notes, and follow up on assigned meetings.

1. 1. Support NPD team as needed.

1. Business Analysis: Market trends analysis regarding competitive activity & threats, business climate and potential company opportunities.
   1. Run various reports as requested.

1. 1. Perform basic analysis on sales data to identify trends and support product management.

Educational Requirements, Skills and Abilities:

1. Energetic team player with passion for completion of projects and tasks.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, Marketing, or Business, or equivalent work experience.
3. Previous experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, JD Edwards preferred.
4. Excellent organizational skills.
5. Strong attention to detail.
6. 1-5 years product management, marketing, or office experience.
7. Experience in door hardware preferred.
8. Ability to be promoted.
9. High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
10. Ability to influence and work through cross-functional teams without formal authority.
11. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively.
