The HR Generalist serves as the on-site subject matter expert for both payroll and a broad range of human resources functions. This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing while driving HR initiatives that support operational success, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll Administration:
- Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Review and verify timesheets, wage computation, and other payroll-related information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to HR, Finance, and other stakeholders.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Support audits and reporting requirements related to payroll.
Human Resources Support:
- Champion and manage HR programs in staffing, talent development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, diversity, benefits, safety, and employee experience.
- Facilitate and promote ASSA ABLOY events and initiatives to improve employee engagement.
- Provide counsel, coaching, and guidance to site leaders and employees.
- Support recruiting and onboarding processes to improve retention and reduce reliance on staffing agencies.
- Oversee safety initiatives including reporting, investigations, claims, and countermeasures.
- Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate regularly with managers and employees to promote well-being and morale.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, company standards, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
- Administer HRIS processes related to onboarding, employee records, performance reviews, and succession planning.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to travel when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or
abilities required for this position.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- 2 years of payroll processing experience; experience with ADP, SuccessFactors, or similar systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO).
- Experience in manufacturing or fast-paced environments preferred.
- Experience managing safety programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday).
Language Ability
For business and safety reasons, ability to write reports and business correspondence in English and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers, technicians, and assemblers in English.
Bi-lingual Spanish speaker is preferred.
