The Role:
The Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing certified payrolls (with and without prevailing wages), support payroll processing and perform other payroll/benefit related work as required.
This position will report to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

The Role:
The Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing certified payrolls (with and without prevailing wages), support payroll processing and perform other payroll/benefit related work as required.
This position will report to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and ensure accuracy and compliance with prevailing wage requirements. Assist with process improvement.
- Support the US/Canada payroll weekly/biweekly entry and reporting
- Audit payroll data regularly to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Ensure compliance with all wage and hour laws, tax regulations, union agreements, and company policies
- Crosstrain within the department to provide backup coverage
- Drive process improvements, automation, and vendor utilization to enhance efficiency
- Partner cross-functionally with HRIS, Accounting, and Operations to streamline data flows
- Provide customer service to employees regarding time and attendance, benefits and payroll questions
- Other general HR/PR functions as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or Business Administration
- 4–7 years of experience in payroll and benefits management
- Knowledge of certified and prevailing wage
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
- Multi-state and multi-provincial payroll experience required
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Payworks, or similar HCM system
- Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll tax and employment legislation
- Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential information
- Detail oriented
- Minimal errors in time sensitive workflow
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
- Ability to work as a team
