Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing experience, preferred
- Able to read and write legibly
- Able to read blueprints, shop drawings, and work from sketches
- Excellent knowledge of shop mathematics, work-in-process, and finished product
- Excellent manual dexterity and coordination
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs. for approximately 60% of the time
- Able to work on own initiative without immediate supervision
- Able to adjust and use computerized gauging
- Ability to attain knowledge of metric dimensions
- Able to easily communicate with all levels of team members.
- Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours and more than 40 hours per week as scheduled.
- Set-up machines and check set-ups made by others.
- Set-up and operate variety of power machinery to form materials of a special type (ie. Profiles) where frequent and complex set-ups are necessary. This includes making frequent program adjustments utilizing custom frame press brake software (Shopgrid and Cincinnati), mathematical skills, and processing knowledge of custom frame brake press operations.
- Trains and instructs other operators in changeovers, trouble-shooting, and material handling
- Works from blueprints, routing tickets, and architects’ drawings if applicable
- Must be able to mathematically calculate gauging and set-ups when processing special work and make adjustments accordingly
- Move material into and out of work area
- Maintain necessary records for documentation
- Check quantities, size and types of tolerance for part being run
- Operate small tools such as tape measure, caliper, gauges, wrenches, test equipment
