What would you do as our Logistics Manager?
You’ll oversee all shipping, receiving, and distribution activities to ensure efficient operations, accurate documentation, and timely delivery of products. You’ll play a critical role in coordinating logistics flow between departments and external partners, driving continuous improvement while leading a small but high-performing team.
You would also:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
- Supervise and develop two direct reports, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Manage logistics scheduling, carrier coordination, and load optimization to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee the flow of materials and finished goods through the distribution process, maintaining accurate inventory and shipment records.
- Monitor freight costs and collaborate with purchasing and finance teams to identify savings opportunities.
- Partner with operations, customer service, and production teams to ensure alignment on shipping priorities and deadlines.
- Drive process improvement initiatives in packaging, staging, loading, and transportation efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to transportation and logistics.
- Maintain KPIs related to shipping accuracy, on-time delivery, freight cost, and inventory accuracy.
- Lead, promote, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Audit customer orders for accuracy and/or production delays.
- Work with Operations Manager to control production scheduling and backlogs.
- Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
- Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The skills and experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or distribution management ideally in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Experience leading small teams and managing day-to-day shipping and receiving operations.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
