ASRC Agile Decision Sciences (ADS), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, has a great opportunity for a Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) team member to support our NASA program, driving cloud cost optimization, financial management, and governance across enterprise environments. This role will help improve visibility into cloud spending, enhance cost efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making in support of critical mission objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze cloud spending across AWS/Azure environments
- Develop cost optimization strategies and identify savings opportunities
- Create dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud usage and costs
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cost-efficient architectures
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for cloud services
- Establish and enforce FinOps best practices, governance, and tagging strategies
- Investigate cost anomalies and provide recommendations for remediation
- Assist with vendor management and pricing optimization (e.g., reservations, savings plans)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
- Familiarity with government contracting and cost accounting practices (e.g., FAR, cost allocation, indirect rates)
- Familiarity with FinOps principles and cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management)
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience building reports or dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Excel)
- Understanding of cloud architecture and resource consumption patterns
- Knowledge of tagging strategies and cost allocation methods
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or related roles
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner, AWS/Azure certifications) are a plus
