Essential Functions & Responsibilities
The Field Tech will be responsible for conducting field surveys on electric utility projects and will be required to keep detailed notes, measurements, and field surveys. Surveys will be conducted using GPS survey equipment and mechanical measurement devices. This position is results-driven, and hours are flexible to the needs of the assignment.
Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
The Field Tech will be responsible for conducting field surveys on electric utility projects and will be required to keep detailed notes, measurements, and field surveys. Surveys will be conducted using GPS survey equipment and mechanical measurement devices. This position is results-driven, and hours are flexible to the needs of the assignment.
- Gather field data on aerial electric distribution lines and structures via GPS survey equipment.
- Perform post-construction inspections of existing electric facilities to evaluate compliance and determine if new construction was built to spec.
- Conduct assessments of electric-owned utility structures to determine candidacy for Joint Use by Telecommunications parties.
- Coordinate with third-party licensees to arrange ride-out meetings on proposed surveys.
- Report to locally based Project Manager for assignments and progress updates.
- Communicate with the team with nightly/weekly reports to ensure all tasks have been completed.
- Safely operate and care for a company provided vehicle.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a basic understanding of aerial electric distribution equipment and communication lines.
- Technologically proficient to be able to navigate the GPS unit’s operating system and handle uploading field data to a cloud-based drive.
- Must have understanding of computers.
- Be able to navigate a vehicle to various locations using mapping applications.
- Must have a current valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in an all-weather environment. Most work is completed outdoors.
- This position requires a significant amount of time standing or walking. Jobs may require navigating uneven ground depending on location.
- This position requires the ability to safely drive for extended periods of time.
- Experience using common Microsoft Excel commands and navigation.
- Prior experience as a lineman or surveying distribution and/or communication lines.

License & Certifications
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Regional travel is required, as needed.
- This is a field position and requires frequent travel around the state of Georgia.
- Overnight stays are necessary on occasion.
