ASPIRUS ST. LUKE'S MEDICAL OFFICE PAVILION in Duluth, MN is seeking a INSTRUMENT PROCESSING SPECIALIST-CLINICS to join our PAVILION SURGERY CENTER team!
Salary Range: $18.70 - $27.11 Hourly
Schedule/Hours: DAY ONLY, 8 hours
Weekend Requirement: Generally No Weekends
FTE: FULL TIME, 1.00 FTE
The Instrument Processing Specialist is responsible for processing instruments and equipment and ordering of instruments and supplies needed for reprocessing. Responsible for transporting specimens. It is an expectation of the Instrument Processing Specialist position to become certified within fifteen (15) months of hire into the position at which time they would become eligible to move into an available Instrument Processing Specialist-Certified position, so long as that employee is not in 'active' discipline.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school graduate.
- Experience: N/A
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Instrument Processing Specialists hired after 11/1/2016 are required to obtain the Certified Registered Central Service Technician Certification (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification, from a program designated by St. Lukes, within fifteen (15) months of hire into the Instrument Processing Specialist position. Current CRCST or CBSPD Certification is required to remain qualified as an Instrument Processing Specialist.

- Experience: Previous experience or education in processing instruments or similar equipment.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Certification.

Knowledge of basic mathematical computation; legible printing and/or handwriting. Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment and instrumentation; to comprehend and follow complex verbal and written instructions; to observe and report anything that varies from normal and expected; to contribute to new staff orientation and to students learning by serving as a resource person, building self-confidence in others by teaching and offering positive reinforcement; to maintain confidentiality.
- READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.
- SPEAKING - Basic: Ability to speak simple sentences.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
