Aspirus Iron River Hospital in Iron River, MI is seeking a CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN to join our PHARMACY team!
The Pharmacy Technician performs accurate and timely dispensing and distribution of medications. Performs pharmacy technician job duties within the pharmacy department, hospital, and associated clinics. Duties include but are not limited to; dispensing, sterile admixing, repackaging, inventory management, use of Pyxis cabinets, clerical duties, ordering, and 340B support.
HOURS: Full Time; 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period.
Experience/Qualifications
- Knowledge of office procedures and customer service normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Full Michigan pharmacy tech licensure
- If not currently licensed as a pharmacy tech in the state of Michigan, a temporary Michigan tech license will be applied for upon hire and full licensure obtained within one year
- Prior experience in a pharmacy setting preferred
- Knowledge of drug names and pharmacy math required - may learn on the job
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel

Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics is one of four hospitals in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the Aspirus family.
With 300 employees, Aspirus Iron River Hospital and Clinics serves people through a 25-bed hospital, physician clinics, dialysis center, rehab fitness center, ambulance service, and home care and hospice. The outpatient part of this practice is located in a stand-alone clinic. This allows the provider to work independently yet have the specialist support and financial security from the entire Aspirus health care system. The critical access hospital has an average daily census of 9-10 patients.
The hospital and clinics provide numerous services and has up to date technology, including 64 slice CT and a mobile MRI. The medical staff includes family practitioners, internal medicine, general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologist, emergency medicine physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Visiting medical staff includes ophthalmologist, oncologist, cardiologist, ENT, podiatrist, and nephrologist.
