Location: York, PA 17402

Schedule: Monday–Saturday

1st Shift 6:30 am - 3:30 pm

2nd Shift 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Full-Time: 40–50 Hours Weekly

Pay: $21.50 per hour

Overview:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of freight within a cross-dock environment. This role supports daily dock operations by loading, unloading, sorting, and staging freight to ensure timely and accurate processing.

The Forklift Operator plays a key role in maintaining operational flow, ensuring freight is handled in accordance with Aspire XDock SOPs and customer expectations. Responsibilities include supporting load quality, maintaining a safe work environment, and contributing to overall dock productivity in a fast paced, time sensitive operation. This role may support additional dock functions as needed to maintain operational workflow.

This position requires 40-50 hours per week, with overtime paid after 40 hours. Aspire XDock also provides a $100 reimbursement for steel toe boots to support a safe work environment.

High-volume cross-dock experience preferred. This position requires the ability to safely maintain productivity standards of 150 pallets per day.

Work Hours Expectations

This role operates in a fast-paced, time sensitive cross dock environment where schedules are driven by freight volume and customer demand. Employees can expect a typical work schedule of Monday through Saturday, with hours varying based on business needs.

Shifts may extend up to 12 hours, particularly during peak volume periods. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and variable start times is required.

Pay & Benefits

• $21.50/hour starting pay
• 40–50 hours per week

Eligible for benefits after 60 days of employment

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts in a fast paced, high volume LTL cross dock environment
• Safely maintain productivity standards of 150 pallets per day
• Load and unload trailers from multiple carriers safely and efficiently
• Sort, stage, and consolidate freight by destination
• Secure freight using straps, load bars, and airbags as required
• Utilize a handheld scanner and warehouse management system to track freight
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues
• Follow all OSHA safety standards and company policies
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support overall dock operations to ensure timely and accurate freight movement

Preferred Skills

• Forklift certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Previous warehouse or cross dock experience
• Experience with freight staging, load quality, and damage identification
• Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and procedures
• Basic computer or scanner experience

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Previous forklift experience in an LTL or cross-dock environment preferred
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
