Azure Architect (Cost Optimization & Migration Focus)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an expert-level Azure Architect to lead enterprise-scale cloud cost optimization and strategic cross-cloud migration initiatives. In this role, you will heavily analyze an existing Azure estate, identify critical cost-saving levers, and architect seamless, cost-effective workload migrations from Azure to AWS.
Core Responsibilities:
- Cost & Architecture Optimization: Lead the strategic review of the current Azure estate (compute, storage, data services, networking, and observability) to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- FinOps Strategy: Identify and implement Azure-native cost levers, including reservations, savings plans, Azure Hybrid Benefit, autoscaling, B-series instances, and Spot VMs.
- Migration Planning & Execution: Lead end-to-end Azure-to-AWS migration planning, encompassing complex dependency mapping and risk assessments.
- Cross-Cloud Collaboration: Work closely with AWS Architects to ensure landing zone consistency and architecture alignment post-migration.
- Licensing & Resource Management: Provide actionable recommendations on Azure-specific licensing optimization.
Technical Requirements:
- Azure Mastery: Expert-level knowledge across Azure IaaS and PaaS, AKS, App Services, Azure SQL, Synapse, and Databricks.
- Cloud FinOps Tools: Deep proficiency with Azure Cost Management Billing, Azure Advisor, and Azure Migrate.
- Migration Technologies: Proven experience with cross-cloud migration patterns and tools, specifically CloudEndure, AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), and Azure Migrate.
- Data & Ecosystems: Strong working knowledge of MongoDB Atlas and Databricks cost levers within a large enterprise ecosystem.
- Advanced Networking: Deep understanding of ExpressRoute, VNet peering, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
Experience & Certifications:
- Experience: 10 years of overall cloud engineering/architecture experience, with a minimum of 6 years specifically focused on Microsoft Azure.
- Required Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Required Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (Critical for the cross-cloud migration scope of this role).
- Preferred Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
