Job Summary:
The Bartender at The Pearl at Aspire is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in the bar area and dining room. They ensure adherence to The Pearl at Aspire's recipes, standards, and procedures while providing exceptional service. Additionally, Bartenders contribute to meeting or exceeding sales performance objectives established by management. The position includes a competitive hourly rate plus tips.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up the bar area in compliance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar, including proper disposal of trash and removal of empty glasses.
- Ensure adequate stock of liquors, beer, wines, mixes, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies.
- Follow The Pearl at Aspire service model to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
- Work consistently to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Acquire knowledge of beverage recipes and menu to provide recommendations and suggestively sell to guests.
- Uphold the highest standards of beverage quality.
- Prepare and serve drinks according to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Promptly notify management of incidents involving possible excessive alcohol consumption or impaired conditions.
- Process guest checks and payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card, and accounting policies.
- Report all tips in compliance with company policy and IRS regulations.
- Maintain a consistently professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and colleagues.
- Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with The Pearl at Aspire Responsible Serving Statement Policy.
- Acknowledge every guest within 5 feet of the bartender.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
- Possess current Tennessee state issued ABC Card.
- Strong commitment to providing friendly guest service.
- Knowledge of and ability to properly prepare mixed drinks and other beverages.
- Familiarity with proper food handling and serving techniques, and federal, state, and local alcohol serving regulations.
- Ability to process cash handling and credit card transactions accurately.
- Proficiency in operating a computer, calculator, phone, and other office equipment.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and efficient time management.
- Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible and efficient under pressure.
- Ability to attend a 5-day Culture Class and other mandatory meetings and classes.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular attendance and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Additionally, it involves hearing, speaking, walking, crawling, climbing, reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, stooping, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. Bartenders must tolerate significant temperature changes and frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning solutions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
