We are seeking a Lead Mixer to join our team at our Van Nuys, CA bakery. As a Lead Mixer, you will support daily mixing operations by coordinating department activities, ensuring dough quality meets specifications, and maintaining efficient workflow to support production schedules.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 1st
- Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Weekend Availability: Required
- Hourly Rate: $23.25 – $25.00
- Coordinate and oversee daily mixing operations to ensure production schedules are met
- Ensure dough batches meet required time, temperature, and quality specifications
- Lead, assign, and monitor work of mixing team members to maintain efficiency and accountability
- Monitor ingredient availability, starter levels, and FIFO inventory practices
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant production and quality documentation
- Promote a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment in accordance with GMPs
- Support continuous improvement in product quality, food safety, and operational effectiveness
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 months of related manufacturing or food production experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to operate and understand mixing equipment and process controls
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move wheeled mixing bowls up to approximately 1,000 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting quality and safety standards
- Prior bakery or food manufacturing experience
- Experience leading or training team members in a production environment
- Knowledge of GMPs and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Familiarity with dough mixing, scaling, and temperature controls
- Strong problem-solving and proactive decision-making skills
