AspenTree Animal Care is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding team.
We're looking for positive team players with great communication skills and a solid technical background. Candidates must be motivated, friendly, organized, and detail oriented. Assistants with 3 years of experience are encouraged to apply!
This is a full-time role, primarily comprised of four 10-hour weekday shifts. Assistants are also responsible for assisting the doctors during afterhours emergencies. These responsibilities are shared amongst the support staff team on a rotating schedule. During the emergency shift, assistants are on-call, coming in from 5:30pm-8am, if needed. Additional time-and-a-half compensation is provided for on-call services, in addition to a $50 flat payment.
Responsibilities:
- General assisting of technical and DVM team
- Venipuncture
- Radiographs
- Blood draws
- Patient handling and restraint
- Pharmacy duties
- Medication administration
- Injections
- Client communication and education
- Cleaning throughout hospital
