We are seeking a Web Developer to join our team! The Web Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of customizations and enhancements within Furniture Values International’s websites. This role involves collaborating with business analysts, functional consultants, and end-users to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. The consultant will support both project-based initiatives and ongoing system maintenance, ensuring system integrity, performance, and alignment with business goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Development & Customization
Design, develop, test, and deploy internal and external websites using tools/languages such as:· PHP
· HTML
· CSS Styling
· JavaScript/JQuery
· SQL
· JSON
- · Create and maintain websites interfaces with external systems (e.g., APIs, web services, third-party applications).
- · Work with Web Development Team to get up to speed with our website applications.
Technical Analysis & Solution Design
- · Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and specifications.
- · Participate in solution architecture planning to ensure scalable and maintainable development.
- · Conduct impact analysis and risk assessment for system changes and upgrades.
System Administration, Integration & Support
- · Develop and support integrations between JD Edwards and QAD/third-party systems (e.g., APIs, CRM, EDI, WMS).
- · Troubleshoot and resolve issues in customizations, interfaces, and batch processes.
- · Provide technical support for websites.
- · Create and maintain user accounts and security roles.
- · Perform other related duties as assigned.
Documentation & Standards
- · Develop technical documentation including functional and technical specifications, test plans, and user guides.
- · Follow established SDLC, development standards, and change management protocols.
Training
- · Provide Training to end-users and mentor junior level programmers if necessary.
Preferred Skills & Abilities:
- · Thorough understanding of website design and administration.
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- · Fluency with markup and programming languages including HTML, XML, Java, and CSS.
- · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- · Associate’s degree or two years of vocational school required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Web Development, or related field preferred.
- · Two years of related experience highly preferred.
